'Trouble Brewing at Sea, Falmouth' is an original acrylic painting inspired by the dramatic weather patterns that sweep across Falmouth Bay.

On this particular afternoon in winter, I was on Gylly Beach when I observed the sky growing rapidly darker. There was a band of gold at the horizon, a phenomenon that often indicates an approaching storm. The waves started to build on the shoreline.

To capture the feeling of that atmospheric beach, I slowly built up the layers of paint, glazes and marble dust to develop depth and dimension. A line of gold can be seen at the horizon.

As always, if you would like to see more photos or a video of the painting, then please let me know.

This painting will be available to view at my solo exhibition, Seascapes, in October.
