On the Western coast of Guernsey, particularly around Cobo, there are beautiful rocks with a wonderful pink lustre. Pink Cobo granite is particular to the area and the pink crystals are formed from Feldspar. I find the colours of the West Coast particularly striking with the pink, turquoise blues and browns. This painting was inspired by a trip I took to visit family in February and is made up of acrylic, marble dust and ink. The pink rocks themselves in the painting are heavily textured.
