'Looking West from St Mawes' is inspired by a joyful family day by the water. This layered and textured painting captures the rich blue sky of the day and the view from over the steps beneath the St Mawes Hotel, with the familiar ledge visible to the right. A vibrant piece filled with light, memory and movement.
 
It was a beautiful, still July day and the sky was very clear with gave an almost glacial feeling, although it was lovely and warm. This is a vibrant piece which just jumps out and looks lovely on a white wall. It was thoroughly enjoyable to paint!
