Cornish Mizzle over Pendennis Castle. A fine art print taken from my original oil painting. The original will be exhibited at The Poly, Falmouth until the end of April.
The original oil was painted in response to a blustery, rain-filled day, where I finally escaped to the car and sat above Castle Beach in Falmouth with my flask of coffee and sketch book! The work captures the distinctive Cornish “mizzle” — fine drizzle driven by wind — as fast-moving clouds swept across Pendennis Castle.
Working in oil allows for expressive, layered brushwork and I hope that the piece reflects the sense of being immersed in the elements — the sound of wind, the sensation of rain, and the dramatic presence of Pendennis Castle.
This original painting's quality is carefully preserved in the print, offering a soft, atmospheric presence that sits beautifully in a range of interiors.
